Elisa D’Amico is the Chief Legal Officer for A4D, Inc., an online performance marketing company. She joined the company in June 2021 from K&L Gates LLP, where she was previously a litigation partner and co-lead of the firm’s social media law and crisis management practices. Elisa’s expertise in cyber safety and the impacts of internet-based conduct stems from her groundbreaking work co-founding the Cyber Civil Rights Legal Project, a global pro bono project aimed at empowering and helping individuals whose explicit images are distributed and displayed online without consent regain control of their digital footprints and their lives.
In an effort to mitigate negative consequences of digital interactions, Elisa regularly speaks to individuals of all ages about recognizing online risks, developing coping mechanisms and strategies, and maximizing the positive impact of digital interactions in a way that promotes digital wellbeing. She has also developed non-legal programs geared toward raising children’s awareness about using technology in a positive way and becoming conscious digital citizens.
Since 2014, Elisa has been a founding member of the Advisory Board for the Tyler Clementi Institute for CyberSafety at New York Law School and in 2015, she was selected by then California Attorney General Kamala Harris to join her Cyber Exploitation Task Force. She often writes and lectures about social media law, technology and digital wellbeing, and has been consulted by myriad media outlets, including the New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, CNN, MSNBC, Broadly/VICE, The Meredith Vieira Show, Last Week Tonight With John Oliver, Marie Claire, and the Miami Herald.
She lives in Miami with her husband, kids, rescue pup, sugar gliders, and wild peacocks.
